CNA Training in Maine

The federal minimum for CNA training is at least 75 hours. Maine, however, wants to make sure that you know what you’re doing and that’s why they require at least 150 hours, instead. This includes both classroom work and clinical work and gives you the skills that you need to jump into the nursing field.

The good thing about becoming a CNA in Maine is that you can get your training paid for by your employer if you’re hired before you start your classes, or have the money reimbursed if you’re hired right after you finish your exams and pass.

Maine will pay for your training as long as you are working in the position of a CNA within 12 months of being certified. This doesn’t happen in all states, which makes Maine a top rated nursing state in the United States.

Because of the amount of hours that you’ll need to have in order to become certified as a CNA, you’ll need to make sure that this is the career path you want. You’ll be putting in a lot of hours just to get trained and finding out later on that you can’t handle this type of work isn’t a good thing to have happen.
